Merino Wharf’s name was inspired by the textile materials that passed through the docks between 1805 to 1968, and has has been designed by award-winning architects Patel Taylor.
The steel and stone façade of the lower floors reflects the character of the old dockside warehouses, while the upper floors take on a more modern quality with symmetrical framework, a design that’s quite unlike anything else at London Dock.
A bustling new neighbourhood is emerging at London Dock and Merino Wharf is at the centre of it. Sitting beside the thriving Gauging Square, and forming the start of Quayside, the vibrant new pedestrianised boulevard running alongside the refurbished Grade II listed Pennington Street Warehouse, this will surely be a new destination for London.
